Job Summary

Coordinate product development efforts by conceptualizing technical feasibility, creating system architecture, and managing the full product development lifecycle from concept to validation. Characterize systems through functional decomposition, allocate requirements across work streams, and build traceability to ensure verified performance against measurable standards. Develop real-time embedded programs to control instrument subsystems, specify software modifications, and troubleshoot field performance issues by diagnosing faults and reverse-engineering root causes. Manage overall system integration while adhering to rigorous design, documentation, and verification practices to maintain engineering functional excellence.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (e.g., systems, biomedical, chemical, electrical, mechanical, optical, software)
  • 3-5 years of professional experience
  • Effective verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to communicate a complex array of issues both within the immediate development team and to other parts of the organization
  • Experience working within cross-functional teams
  • Ability to coordinate interests from a wide range of scientific and engineering disciplines in building solutions to business and technical problems
  • Comfortability within fast-paced environments
  • Ability to deal with changes to stakeholder needs and technical requirements
  • Ability to synthesize diverse product requirements into straightforward architectures
  • Ability to create allocated work plans
  • Ability to report on status and commitments
  • Proficiency in analyzing test results
  • Ability to assess probable failure modes
  • Ability to develop and execute appropriate corrective action
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications
  • Experience using and maintaining measurement equipment

Desired Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of high-level programming languages such as Python
  • Familiarity with source level software debugging techniques and related tools
  • Working knowledge of analytical tools such as JMP, Matlab, and computer aided design (CAD) software
  • Exposure to AI tools such as Claude, Copilot, Gemini, etc.
  • Understanding of UML specifications of system and software design elements
  • Good understanding of life and biological sciences
