Job Summary

Instrument Engineer responsible for ensuring accuracy, reliability, and compliance of measurement and control systems used in Lyten Labs; supports experimental and pilot-scale production by managing calibration programs, maintaining instrumentation integrity, and collaborating with engineering and operations to enable precise process control in a fast-changing R&D environment. Key responsibilities include interfacing with quality, instrument technicians, and area managers to ensure instrument points meet quality requirements; ensuring availability and calibration of sensors for buildings, utilities, and clean/dry rooms; developing and validating measurement solutions for new products; contributing to campus energy efficiency; planning and administering recurring calibration programs; leading instrument technicians; writing and managing calibration/verification routines and standards with quality; training personnel on measurement tasks; evaluating spare parts; coordinating with purchasing and external calibration companies; following up on equipment reliability (KPI); troubleshooting and operational support for measurement equipment; improving maintenance for reliability, cost, and safety; and aligning with investments per policy.

Required Qualifications

  • M.Ss or B.Sc degree in mechanical, electrical, automation or similar
  • +3 years of instrument/calibration engineering experience
  • +3 years of experience in a relevant industrial environment (semicon, aviation, automotive)
  • Verbal and written fluency in English
  • Computer literacy (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, calibration management software, analytical software like Minitab or JMP)
  • Solid technical knowledge with instrumentation, calibration techniques and standards (IQ/OQ/PQ)
  • Experience with statistical validation (MSA, SPC)
  • Strong analytical, organizing and problem solving skills
  • Experience with continuous improvements in industrial environment

Desired Qualifications

  • MS or MSc in mechanical, electrical, automation or related technical field
  • 3+ years of instrument/calibration engineering experience
  • 3+ years in an industrial environment (semiconductor, aviation, automotive)
  • Fluent in English (verbal and written)
  • Experience with calibration techniques and standards (IQ/OQ/PQ)
  • Proficiency with calibration management software and analytical tools (e.g., Minitab, JMP)
  • Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of instrumentation maintenance and reliability metrics (KPI)
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent (preferred)
  • Experience with statistical validation (MSA, SPC)
  • Experience with part evaluation and supplier coordination for calibration services
  • Ability to work in fast-changing R&D / pilot-scale production environments
  • Quality collaboration with quality department and technicians
