Job Summary
Install, maintain, and troubleshoot automation equipment, PLCs, HMIs, and RTUs supporting oilfield production operations. Monitor and diagnose SCADA system failures, configure industrial communication networks using protocols like Modbus and MQTT, and coordinate with contractors to ensure quality workmanship. Evaluate existing systems to recommend improvements that enhance reliability and efficiency. Respond to service calls to restore communications and telemetry, while training field personnel on proper equipment use and basic troubleshooting. Work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including areas with H2S presence, requiring availability for on-call rotations.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years of oilfield experience
- At least 3 years in automation and electrical roles
- Must be available to be On-Call
- Must possess a desire to automate repetitive tasks
- Must utilize data from multiple sources to achieve differential results
- Must be self-motivated
- Must demonstrate strong ethics and character
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision
- Must be flexible and cooperative with co-workers
- Must be able to adapt to changing operational priorities
- Must be able to work outdoors where exposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, fumes and gases is common
- Must be able to work in areas where H2S is present
- Must be able to work in normal light and heavy construction activities
- Must be able to work around pressured propane, water, electricity, and waste lines
- Must be able to work under all weather conditions
- Must have finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination
- Must be able to push, pull, or carry 50 to 75-pound objects
- Must be able to stand and walk most of the time
- Must be able to sit and drive for extended periods
