Job Summary
Instrument & Controls Technician for a Ball Ground, GA battery energy storage site. Responsible for safe operation and maintenance of AC/DC systems, SCADA monitoring, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs of equipment such as inverters, battery modules, transformers, switchgear, and metering systems. Utilize IBM Maximo for planning and documentation; enforce LOTO and EHS requirements; manage contractor compliance; coordinate site maintenance activities; perform and participate in safety and planning meetings; flexible with shift patterns (5/8s or 4/10s) and available for night, weekend, and holiday work. Requires experience with DC systems (600–1500 V), medium/high voltage AC systems up to 34.5 kV, and strong electrical/mechanical safety knowledge. Must have a two-year technical associate degree (or military equivalent) and be willing to travel to other sites for support as needed; preferred experience in solar/BESS maintenance and MAXIMO/SafeTK knowledge.
Required Qualifications
- Two-year technical associate’s degree from a certified technical institution or military equivalent
- EEI TECH test qualification
- Availability for extended hours including nights and weekends
- Willingness to travel to other sites for support as needed
- Experience with Maximo or similar maintenance management systems (preferred)
- Knowledge of LOTO and safety practices
- Ability to read electrical schematics and prints
- Ability to work independently or in a team
- Attention to safety and regulatory compliance
