Job Summary
Instrument and Electrical Technician on 2nd shift responsible for ensuring tools, parts and supplies are available for each job, completing service records, and recommending or initiating equipment modifications or replacement of electrical components. Provides support to operations to run machines safely and maximize efficiency, troubleshoot electrical/control issues (PLC, DCS, VFD), read logic in DCS/MDC/PLC, maintain SAP maintenance records, manage spares, and contribute to root-cause analysis for continuous improvement. Requires HS diploma or equivalent plus a 2-year technical degree or 5 years of relevant electrical-field experience, and at least 3 years of manufacturing IE technician experience. Strong communication, basic math, safety adherence, ability to work 2nd shift, and comfort with lifting up to 50 lbs and working in a high-volume production environment. Location: East Hanover, NJ.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalence required
- 2 year technical degree or 5 years industrial work experience in relevant electrical field
- Minimum of 3 years manufacturing experience as IE technician
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Basic mathematic and numeracy skills required
- PLC, DCS, VFD experience strongly preferred
- Ability to work in a Team environment
- Self-motivated able to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders and stairs, and stand for continuous periods of time with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to work in a hot, humid, noisy and high volume machine production area
- Available for on-call duty
- Willingness to work 2nd Shift
