Job Summary
Provide electrical and instrumentation support for control valves, transmitters, analytical equipment, motors, motor starters, and other various electrical and instrumentation equipment. Maintain and troubleshoot power systems, PLCs and SIS to safely achieve plant production goals. Install, troubleshoot and maintain electrical, pneumatic, and electronic instrumentation systems. Perform duties in compliance with HSE policies and Phillips 66 regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Climb up to 250 feet in height
- Lift and transport materials (up to 50 pounds), bend, stoop, perform moderate manual labor, work in confined spaces, climb, and work at various levels above the ground
- Work overtime and respond to callouts, which may include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Work outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat, and humidity
- Work in enclosed spaces, such as tanks and silos
- Work around chemicals, including acids and bases that may be under high pressure and heat
- Perform firefighting duties as needed
- Follow safe work practices and procedures
- Read at a level to understand written safety procedures, work procedures, work permits, instruction manuals
- Maintain face daily so that a respirator/face mask can seal properly
- Wear fire retardant clothing and personal protective equipment items
- Associate's degree or higher in Instrumentation and/or Electrical
- 5 or more years of direct experience working as an Instrument and Electrical (I&E) Technician in a refinery or petrochemical refinery
- 5 or more years of experience troubleshooting power and control systems
- 5 or more years of direct experience in the use of test equipment and procedures, NEC, OSHA, ANSI, lockout/tagout, start-up/shut-down procedures, rigging equipment, and instrumentation terminology
