Job Summary
Maintain and repair electrical, pneumatic, electronic, and control systems across the Citizens Thermal Perry K Steam plant, Perry K Screenhouse, and Eskenazi Chiller-Boiler plant. Perform emergency repairs, overhaul motors up to 700 hp, and calibrate boiler interlocks while managing 24/7 on-call duties. Install equipment, test high-pressure vessel interlocks, and maintain Siemens SCADA and Allen Bradley PLC networks. Troubleshoot motor starter controls, variable speed drives, and 4,160V/480V switchgear, including generator units with Woodward 505 Governor systems. Document all maintenance in the EAM Work-order management system and interpret electrical schematics. Support Operations, Engineering, and Mechanical Maintenance teams as needed.
Required Qualifications
- AAS Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent, i.e., Journeyman Electrician's card for approved apprenticeship
- Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70)
- Experience with blueprint and electrical schematic drawing interpretation
- 2 years' experience in the electrical or electronic field
- 2 years' experience in the instrumentation field
- Experienced in breaker control and synchronization methods
- Must demonstrate proficiency in safe electrical work practices
- Knowledge the safe operation of industrial electrical switchgear, breakers and motor starters
- Must be able to participate in 24/7 on-call program
Desired Qualifications
- 5 Years in the Electronic/Instrumentation /Electrical field in a power generation environment
- DCS Boiler Control systems
- Power Generators & Generator synchronization
- High Pressure Vessel interlock requirements (testing, documentation, and verification)
- Knowledge of environmental rules, regulations, auditing, and reporting Procedures
- Environmental monitoring equipment training
- PLC Programmer/Technician
- Computer Technician
