Job Summary
Instruct CDL Class A students in safety and trucking best practices, demonstrating driving operations and supervising trainees in classroom and behind-the-wheel areas such as Full Pre-Trip Inspection, Basic Control Skills, and Road Driving Qualifications. Maintain training records and ensure adherence to company policy and safety standards while delivering in-person daily instruction. Must hold a valid Class A CDL with limited moving violations, meet DOT requirements (physical and drug testing), and be able to communicate effectively to deliver Werner Roadmaster’s approved training and curriculum. Required Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL
- no more than two moving violations in 12 months and no more than three in 24 months (driving record review)
- minimum of 3 years over-the-road or local commercial driving experience
- ability to obtain instructor licensure as required by jurisdiction
- must pass DOT physical
- must pass DOT drug test and hair follicle drug test
- random and suspicion-based drug and alcohol screening
- effective communication skills (verbal, non-verbal, written)
- ability to deliver training per approved curriculum
- complete onboarding and continuing education as required
