Job Summary
Teach Y Skippers and Progressive Swimming lessons for children and adults according to National YMCA standards, ensuring participant safety and promoting the mission of strengthening communities. Develop weekly class outlines, demonstrate skills based on YMCA and American Red Cross standards, and incorporate Spirit, Mind, and Body development into all methods. Maintain orderly facilities, store equipment appropriately, and report maintenance issues to Aquatic Management Staff. Administer accurate attendance and skill progression records, complete individual evaluations, and submit advancement recommendations to the Director of Swim Lessons. Obtain all required trainings, including CPR, AED, First Aid, and swim stroke evaluations, within specified timelines after hire.
Required Qualifications
- at least 16 years' old
- appropriate educational/employment experience to successfully provide instruction
- pass a swim stroke evaluations test
- Current Child & Infant and Adult CPR, AED and First Aid
