Instructor, Stages (Technical Instructor)

Job Summary
Oversee technical direction for student productions including set building, prop sourcing, and scenic painting instruction for ages 2nd through 12th grade. Maintain a safe and fun environment while communicating with supervisors regarding classroom concerns. Perform dry tech, student tech rehearsals, and performance dates during a part-time Sunday schedule from September 6th to November 29th. Be prepared and dressed to reflect a positive image of The J, providing exemplary customer service to students and parents. Prior experience with stage productions and elementary education is required.
Required Qualifications
- Prior experience with stage/theatre productions, preferably school aged productions
- Experience in elementary education and teaching a variety of ages and skill levels, especially 2nd -12th grade
- Ability to provide exemplary customer service to students and their parents/guardians
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with students of all ages and abilities
- This job requires frequent talking and hearing
- Occasional sitting, standing, walking and exposure to loud noise of sound system
- Occasional lifting up to 30 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- B.F.A. or other degree related to teaching or theatre preferred, but not required
