Job Summary
Deliver engaging, practical instruction across all years of the Refrigeration Mechanic apprenticeship program. Develop and adapt teaching materials, learning activities, and assessments to promote student success. Provide constructive feedback, guidance, and support to learners to help them meet apprenticeship outcomes. Participate in departmental activities such as SAIT Open House and promotional events. Collaborate with faculty and staff to foster a collegial, team-oriented environment. Instruction may occur during early mornings, evenings, and weekends; scheduling arrangements will be discussed with leadership. The role focuses on shaping the next generation of skilled tradespeople through hands-on learning, ongoing mentorship, and leveraging existing curriculum resources and diverse instructional strategies.
Required Qualifications
- Alberta Journeyperson Certificate and Red Seal in Refrigeration (required)
- Minimum of five years of experience in the trade (preferred across diverse service and installation environments)
- Dual certification (Gasfitter A/B or Electrician) is a strong asset
- Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
- Comfort with Microsoft Office and presentation tools
- Experience with adult learners or on-the-job training is a plus
