Job Summary
Deliver high-quality instruction in an applied learning environment by organizing daily classes with creative techniques tailored to diverse student needs. Facilitate activities and discussions that engage learners, while interpreting and administering assessments to provide constructive feedback supporting growth. Develop course syllabi and instructional plans, integrating technology effectively to enrich educational experiences. Perform student advisement to ensure timely information on tutoring and retention programs, acting as an ambassador for the college. Maintain accurate student records, ensure instructional safety, and participate in recruitment tours and department planning. Demonstrate TSTC Core values of Excellence, Accountability, Service, and Integrity with all stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Verifiable work experience working in one or more of the following industries: Oil and gas, Petrochemicals/chemical manufacturing, Power generation, Water and wastewater treatment, Pharmaceuticals, Food and beverage, Manufacturing
- Understanding of Lockout Tagout
- Understanding of various process equipment and operation
- Understanding of Plant utilities
- Understanding of Troubleshooting operational issues
- Understanding of various Distributive control systems (DCS)
- Understanding of P&IDs
- Proper use of handtools
- Industrial safety
- Associate degree in a closely related field
- Demonstrated qualifications in the technology's teaching discipline
- Verifiable professional experience may be accepted in lieu of other requirements as approved by the Vice Chancellor who oversees academic programs, or his/her designee
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a closely related teaching discipline
- 5+ years related work experience
- Console and outside operating experience
- Knowledge of learning management systems (blackboard, canvas etc)
- Teaching or training department experience in an industrial environment
