Job Summary
Implement appropriate instructional duties in classroom and laboratory settings while developing and revising courses and curricula. Evaluate student performance and participate in departmental, division-wide, and college-wide committees to support professional development. Teach courses at the HVCC main campus and/or the Malta campus, with assignments potentially including evenings, weekends, and online formats. The annual teaching load ranges from 30 to 33 contact hours, distributed as 18 hours in the fall and 15 in the spring. This full-time probationary role begins Spring 2027 with a 10-month work obligation.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Chemistry, Physics, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university
- Two years of successful classroom and laboratory teaching experience at the college level in the content area
- Experience with integration of technology in the classroom/lab
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States unrestricted
- Appointment will be contingent upon completion of a background check

- Experience with distance learning initiatives
- Demonstrated success of student mentoring
- Resource room experience
- Experience using the D2L Brightspace learning management system
