Job Summary
The Operations Instructor is responsible for training and qualifying nuclear plant operators through classroom instruction, simulator training, and in-plant evaluations. This role involves developing training materials, assessing operator performance, and supporting emergency response readiness. Candidates should hold a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and demonstrate a strong background in nuclear operations training. The position requires full-time commitment and entails participation in performance improvement initiatives while upholding operational excellence.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in a technical field from an accredited college or university AND four years of experience in the operation or operations training of a commercial nuclear power plant or the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program
- RO/SRO license/certification AND High school diploma/GED AND six years of experience in the operation or operations training of a commercial nuclear power plant or the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program
- High school diploma/GED AND eight years of experience in the operation or operations training department of a commercial nuclear power plant or the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program
Desired Qualifications
- Previous Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) License or Certification at a Boiling Water Reactor (BWR)
- Previous Reactor Operator (RO) License at Susquehanna
- Ten (10) years of Operations experience
- Previous classroom and simulator instructor experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience developing regulatory examinations in accordance with NUREG-1021
- Completion of INPO Instructor Certification Program
- Previous supervisory experience
- Proficiency with VISION© training administration software
- Proficiency operating L3MTM simulator software
Additional Requirements
- Requires extensive Nuclear Power Plant background security clearance
