Job Summary
Instructor of Statistics at Tarleton State University (Department of Mathematics) focusing on on-campus teaching with potential for teaching at multiple campus locations or through approved instructional modalities. Responsibilities include planning, delivering lectures/seminars/laboratory offerings for undergraduate and/or graduate students; developing course syllabi; designing assessments (exams, quizzes, papers); assessing student performance and providing timely feedback; promoting active learning, critical thinking, and collaboration; mentoring students via office hours and advising; adhering to academic integrity and accreditation standards; incorporating innovative teaching methods and technologies; engaging in professional development; collaborating with colleagues to coordinate offerings and contribute to program development; participating in institutional service roles such as college committees and recruitment; and supporting ongoing program improvement. Minimum requirements include a master’s degree in the teaching discipline with at least 18 graduate hours in STAT, strong communication skills, and the ability to teach at graduate level. The role is non-tenure-track, not eligible for visa sponsorship, and anticipates a Fall 2026 start. Equal opportunity employer.
Required Qualifications
- Earned masters degree in the teaching discipline from an accredited university with at least 18 graduate hours with STAT prefix
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
- Knowledge and understanding of disciplinary subject matter at a level adequate for graduate-level instruction
- Written and oral communication skills sufficient to conduct effective teaching and research activities
- Ability to interact with students, staff, and faculty in a professional, collegial, and collaborative manner
