Job Summary
Faculty 9-month, non-tenure-track Instructor position in Acting/General Theatre at Texas A&M University (Commerce, TX) beginning Fall 2026. Teach undergraduate and master-level courses in Acting/General Theatre, advise students, prepare syllabi, update course materials, develop curriculum, and deliver instruction online and on university campuses. Work collaboratively with faculty and staff to implement departmental programs; provide service to the department, college, university and community; stay current with trends in teaching, learning, and online instructional technologies. Qualifications include MFA or Doctorate (ABD considered with conferred by specified dates); extensive experience in acting and theatre; strong communication and teamwork skills; candidates may have online teaching experience and university teaching experience. DUTIES may include teaching during various times (day, evening, or Saturday); perform service to the department and community; and contribute to program development and student success. Required Qualifications
- Master of Fine Arts or Doctorate degree
- A minimum of 18 graduate-level hours in Theatre from an accredited university
- Extensive experience in acting and general theatre
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team of professionals
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Commitment to high-quality teaching
- Ability to multi-task and work well as part of a team
