Job Summary
Design and facilitate in-person, virtual, and hybrid training courses for Sargent & Lundy's Nuclear Power Group, partnering with subject-matter specialists to define objectives, develop content, and create job aids. Lead projects from concept to delivery, managing stakeholder communication, scope, and version control while overseeing periodic audits of training materials. Facilitate engaging sessions and "train the trainer" workshops, utilizing MS Teams and lab equipment to simulate realistic tasks for internal engineering staff and external nuclear industry clients. Travel up to 25% to Chicago and regional offices to support facilitation and project needs.
Required Qualifications
- 5 or more years of experience as a Training Specialist, Technical Trainer, Instructional Designer, Content Developer, or similar position
- Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Learning Sciences, Instructional Design, Adult Education, Engineering, or related field
- Strong written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills
- Strong relationship-building skills
- Ability to work with templates and adhere to style guidelines
- Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word
- Proficiency facilitating with MS Teams
- Proficiency in ADDIE, SAT, or performance-based models of training development
- Experience facilitating for in-person, virtual, and hybrid audiences
- Experience working with highly technical, complex, regulated content
- Up to 25% travel to Chicago, regional offices, and client locations
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in the nuclear energy industry or another regulated, engineering, or safety-critical environment
- Proficiency in graphic design and/or video editing software (e.g., Adobe Creative Cloud)
