Job Summary

Deliver individualized competency-based instruction through classroom and laboratory management in occupational program areas. Develop performance objectives and criterion-referenced tests, then review, select, and adapt instructional materials to help individuals reach mastery of required competencies. Plan activities to initiate budget requests for equipment and supplies, while monitoring motivation, discipline, and learning difficulties to foster positive behavioral changes. Evaluate and maintain records of inmate progress, execute applicable forms to adhere to facility procedures, and promote positive social skills through appropriate behavior modeling. Maintain accountability of inmates and property while adhering to safety practices. Requires a bachelor's degree, valid teaching certificate, horticulture experience, and two years of relevant teaching experience. Full-time Monday-Friday shift with health, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) match, paid time off, and paid holidays.

Required Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • A valid teaching certificate from the Florida Department of Education or a comparable authority
  • Must have horticulture experience and/or education in related area
  • Two (2) years of relevant teaching experience
  • A valid driver's license in the state of Florida with an acceptable driving record

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge in areas of hydroponics, seed germination, etc.
