Job Summary
Instructor for FREN 2P57 Winter D3 at Brock University, teaching Phonetics & Phonology in a part-time capacity. Required Qualifications
- Graduate Degree (PhD, PhD abd) in an area of French linguistics with a record of sustained successful teaching of French linguistics courses at a University level
- Native or near native fluency in English and French
- Commitment to and competence in the use of Standard International French
- Teaching documentation: evidence of teaching competence in second-year language courses in French at University level; official student and peer evaluations; teaching dossier; references
- Ability to work alone without immediate direct supervision; Ability to work within a team; active participation in curriculum development; sharing of responsibilities in careful test preparation; student assessment; prompt and accurate marking
- Commitment to participate in required committee marking including online activities, mid-term and final exams
- Commitment to incorporation of web-based pedagogical techniques, materials and resources in the teaching of the course; competence in use of email, Brightspace, internet, common office software and multimedia equipment
- Commitment to responsible time management (course structuring, punctuality for lectures); availability for individual consultation with students (office hours) and proctoring exams
