Job Summary
Instructor for ESL Intensive Program teaches Beginner to Advanced ESL courses, develops and delivers ESL curriculum, uses a learning management system, and facilitates project-based learning (PBL). Responsibilities include lesson planning, delivering lectures, evaluating student progress, maintaining SAP records, attending in-service meetings, pursuing professional development, organizing field trips, contributing to program improvement, and providing academic advising and student support. Qualifications require a Bachelor or Master degree in ESL/EFL and two years of prior teaching experience, along with knowledge of ESL pedagogy, English proficiency, language-teaching methodology, intercultural communication, and practicum experience. The position is part-time and located in Chicago, IL.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor or Master degree in ESL/EFL
- two years teaching experience
- knowledge of pedagogical methods for ESL
- native or near-native English
- familiarity with learning management systems
- ability to develop lesson plans
- ability to deliver lectures and facilitate project-based learning (PBL)
- ability to evaluate and monitor student progress
- ability to maintain records of academic progress (SAP)
- professional development activities (minimum two annually)
- intercultural communication skills
- practicum experience
