Job Summary

Instructor/Counselor assists the Residential Manager in supervising a licensed ICF-IID program for individuals with intellectual disabilities, ensuring compliance with State License, Medicaid Waiver, ICF and CSB requirements, and Life Safety Code. Responsibilities include supervising staff, direct interaction with individuals, safe physical management and lifting/transfers, documentation in electronic health records, travel to Horizon worksites, and providing behavioral intervention and de-escalation when needed. The role requires strong communication, safety-focused skills, and willingness to work flexible schedules; driving is required. Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor's degree in related human services - preferred
  • Three years working with individuals with intellectual disabilities or equivalent experience
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to lift and transfer consumers up to 50 to 80 pounds
  • willingness to travel to Horizon worksite(s) and other locations as needed
  • Ability to use a computer for electronic health records
  • Effective communication skills
  • Willing to work modified schedules including weekends/holidays
