Job Summary
Instructor/Counselor serves as assistant manager for ICF homes and helps supervise a licensed ICF-IID program to ensure compliance with state license, Medicaid waiver, ICF and CSB requirements, and Life Safety Code. Requires a High School Diploma or GED with a preferred Bachelor's degree in a related human-services field, plus at least three years of experience with individuals with intellectual disabilities. Responsibilities include direct work with individuals, physical management and lifting up to 50-80 pounds, use of electronic health records, effective communication, travel to Horizon worksites, and participation in behavioral intervention training and de-escalation techniques. Must be capable of driving and may be required to work modified schedules, including weekends and holidays. Full-time role based in Lynchburg, VA, with potential travel to other Horizon sites; Horizon Behavioral Health is an equal opportunity employer.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma / GED required
- Bachelor's degree in related human services - preferred
- Three years working with individuals with intellectual disabilities or equivalent experience
- Supervisory experience preferred
