Job Summary
Conduct classroom and hangar instruction, student advising, and evaluation while working on aircraft and systems to ensure students meet FAA training standards. Develop lesson plans, teaching aids, and assessment tools; manage shop projects, inventory, and training equipment. Submit accurate grade and attendance information within established time periods. Actively pursue on-the-job and formalized training programs to enhance job performance. Adhere to all safety rules and institutional policies. Teach a full-time instructional load of 15 credits per semester at Pierpont Community & Technical College's National Aerospace Education Center in Bridgeport, WV.
Required Qualifications
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certification
- at least 5 years of relevant, verifiable aviation maintenance work experience that meets FAA standards for Part 147 instruction
- Associate's degree in relevant field of study
- Valid driver's license
- Moderate physical activity
- handling of average-weight objects up to 40 pounds
- standing, sitting and/or walking for long periods
- some (less than 10%) out-of-state travel for related CWE conferences and professional development
