Job Summary

Manage student transitions, supervise less structured times, and monitor independent work while remotely located teachers deliver instruction. Hold students accountable for behavior and engagement, create collaborative learning environments, and address individual social, emotional, and behavioral needs. Maintain administrative duties including attendance, grading, and parent conferences while collaborating with tutors and staff. Monitor academic progress using provided data and participate in interventions with parents when necessary. Identify and seek leadership support for challenging student challenges.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • AA Degree or 60 College Credits or Passed Paraprofessional Exam
  • Three years of experience related to student supervision and assisting instruction
  • Valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work with people; students; staff and public
  • Ability to work independently without close supervision
  • Ability to accept direction and constructive criticism
  • Excellent organizational skills

Desired Qualifications

  • Two years of college
  • Participation in district offered training, either directly from district staff or through university partnerships, for instructional technicians
  • Knowledge of content area assigned
  • Previous experience working with children, coaching and counseling roles a plus
  • Preference given for experience working successfully with those of similar demographics to the desired school placement
