Job Summary
Assist teachers in achieving instructional objectives by working with individual students and groups to reinforce learning and fulfill IEP requirements. Present materials within students' comprehension, correct homework and tests, and prepare instructional materials. Maintain classroom organization by filing teacher and student materials, stocking supplies, and arranging learning areas for accessibility. Supervise students during activities, drills, assemblies, and field trips while providing feedback to the teacher on student encounters. Set up audio-visual equipment and maintain appropriate classroom conditions. Report results to the teacher and perform other duties as assigned by the principal or designee.
Required Qualifications
- Two years of higher education earning 30 or more credit hours; or an Associate's (or higher) degree; or having met a rigorous standard of quality, as determined by the New Jersey Department of Education, that demonstrates through a formal assessment, knowledge of and the ability to assist in reading, writing and mathematics instruction or reading, writing and mathematics readiness.
- Hold county substitute teacher certificate.
- Successfully undergo a criminal history check and proof of the U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.
- Meet the health qualifications required of all personnel.
- Meets NJ residency requirements or willingness to relocate to NJ within 365 days of employment.
- Must follow the guidelines of the Camden County Technical Schools' Nepotism Policy, File Code: 0142.1.
