Job Summary
Assist in the instructional process by working with students individually or in small groups to supplement regular instruction and implement teacher-developed lesson plans. Prepare, organize, and use instructional aids, materials, and technology while reinforcing positive learning and behavior patterns. Support parental involvement activities and assist students in developing study skills necessary for learning and achieving instructional objectives. Maintain confidentiality and comply with laws and policies concerning student information privacy. Perform related clerical and recordkeeping duties, monitor student behavior in the cafeteria and other campus locations, and provide support in computer laboratories, library/media centers, and other learning facilities. Act as a translator if able and assist in the implementation of a student's Individual Education Plan. Perform Medicaid administrative claims reimbursable activities as directed.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent and passing score on ParaPro Exam
- Completion of 60 credit hours or an Associate's degree from an accredited institution
- Clear and concise oral and written communication skills
- Organizational and management skills
- Knowledge of general policies and procedures for the functional area of assignment
- Knowledge of HIPAA, Public Records, Sunshine Law, FERPA, and other laws/regulations related to student and employee privacy, public information, and records retention
- Knowledge of and experience with industry-standard equipment, materials, practices, computers, and applications
- Ability to professionally and effectively respond to customer needs and requests for service or assistance
