Job Summary
Assist in the instructional process by working with students individually or in small groups, supplementing regular instruction and implementing teacher-developed lesson plans under direct supervision. Prepare and organize instructional aids, materials, and technology while reinforcing positive learning and behavior patterns. Support parental involvement activities and monitor student behavior in the cafeteria and other campus locations. Maintain confidentiality of student information and comply with laws regarding privacy and records retention. Perform related clerical duties, implement Individual Education Plans (IEP), and act as a translator if able. Provide support in computer laboratories, library/media centers, and other learning facilities. Perform Medicaid administrative claims activities as directed.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent and passing score on ParaPro Exam
- Completion of 60 credit hours or an Associate's degree from an accredited institution
- Clear and concise oral and written communication skills
- Organizational and management skills
- Knowledge of general policies and procedures for the functional area of assignment
- Knowledge of HIPAA, Public Records, Sunshine Law, FERPA, and other laws/regulations related to student and employee privacy, public information, and records retention
- Knowledge of and experience with industry-standard equipment, materials, practices, computers, and applications
- Ability to professionally and effectively respond to customer needs and requests for service or assistance
