Job Summary

Assist certified teachers with classroom instruction, modify curriculum and homework for students requiring adaptations, and provide one-on-one or group tutoring in various curricular areas. Monitor student behavior inside and outside the classroom, escort students to campus areas, and help with clean-up tasks following daily activities. Prepare classrooms for activities by organizing assignments and homework folders, assist with grading papers, and participate in testing students to track academic and social progress. Enter and update student information in computer programs, maintain bulletin boards and supplies, and contact parents as needed. Complete in-service training sessions and attend related meetings.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • one year of educational or clerical experience
  • an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job
  • 60 hours of secondary education or successful completion of the Paraprofessional test
  • Ability to obtain First Aid and CPR certification within 30 days of employment
  • Valid Department of Public Safety (DPS) Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (FPCC)
