Job Summary
Assist certified teachers with classroom instruction by modifying curriculum and homework for students requiring accommodations. Provide one-on-one and group tutoring in various curricular areas while monitoring student behavior inside and outside the classroom. Administer tests and assessments, track IEP progress, and document behavior and activity results. Prepare classrooms for activities, organize assignments, and assist with grading papers. Enter and update student information in computer programs, maintain bulletin boards, and contact parents. Participate in in-service training sessions and testing activities focused on academic and social progress.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- one year of educational or clerical experience
- equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job
- 60 hours of secondary education
- successful completion of the Paraprofessional test
- Ability to obtain First Aid and CPR certification within 30 days of employment
- Valid Department of Public Safety (DPS) Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (FPCC)
