Job Summary
Coach teachers on increasing content knowledge and skills by modeling direct instruction, delivering professional development on standards-based instruction, and developing targeted coaching plans. Lead collaborative planning sessions and analyze instructional data to address specific growth areas, utilizing student work samples and screener data to inform decisions. Provide targeted support to new teachers and assist in implementing school improvement and Title I plans while compiling related reports. This role requires a valid Georgia teaching certificate, five years of teaching experience, and knowledge of the RCSS curriculum, with a schedule of 200 days over 10 months under the direction of the Director of Teaching and Learning.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Must possess a valid Georgia teaching certificate or ability to acquire
- Must meet the district's online learning competency requirement
- Teacher Support and Coaching Endorsement or ability to acquire within two years
- Knowledge of RCSS curriculum
- Techniques for integrating technology into the curriculum
- RCSS policies
- Effective instructional practices for face to face and virtual instruction
- Understanding of the teaching and learning process
- Ability to problem solve and work effectively with administrators, teachers and students
- Technical proficiency and the ability to learn new technology and online systems quickly
- Excellent oral and written communication and human relations skills
- Knowledge of Canvas Learning Management System
- At least five years of successful teaching experience
- Evidence of student achievement and student progress
- Strong leadership skills
- Familiarity with adult learning and online learning
- Evidence of effective technology use
- Data analysis skills
- Possesses knowledge of curriculum and instructional best practices for online and face to face instruction
- Demonstrates operational knowledge of internet and web-related technologies
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Travel may be required for this position
- Required to attend school meetings, programs and activities outside the instructional day as mandated by RCSS contract
- Some work beyond the school day may be required
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree (preferred)
- Graduate work in reading, math or technology AND/OR related endorsements (reading, math, gifted, STEM, online teaching, personalized learning, computer science, teacher support and coaching, teacher leader, coaching)
- Reading or Math Endorsement (preferred)
