Job Summary
Assist the media services specialist in implementing successful library programs and perform required clerical tasks in the library media center to support a positive environment for students and teachers. Required qualifications include a high school diploma or GED with 48 college hours or an Associate’s Degree or passing the Paraprofessional Assessment of Competencies (PAC) exam, plus a Valid Texas Education Aide Certificate. Strong ability to work with children, proficiency with office equipment and computers, and solid clerical and organizational skills are needed to perform filing and other tasks and to support the librarian in daily operations.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED, plus: Two years of study at an institution of higher education totaling 48 hours, or Associates Degree, or Passing score on the “Paraprofessional Assessment of Competencies” exam, to be administered by Alvin ISD.
- Valid Texas Education Aide Certificate (obtainable through Alvin ISD when hired)
- Some experience working with children.
