Job Summary
Prepare classroom activities under teacher supervision and work with small groups to reinforce instructional material. Assist individual students needing special attention, grade independent and remedial work, and perform clerical duties. Set up audio-visual equipment, assist with non-instructional tasks like snack and lunchroom periods, and support playground, cafeteria, and bus loading supervision. Participate in in-service training and perform other duties assigned by the Principal. Requires a high school diploma or higher, valid driver's license, and ability to lift up to 25 pounds. 192-day employment term. Bedford County Schools is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate
- Demonstrate an aptitude for the work to be performed
- Valid state driver's license
- Acceptable driving history
- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time
- Manual dexterity to dial a telephone, to enter data into a computer, and to perform required tasks
- Ability to see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids
- Ability to hear and understand speech at normal levels
- Ability to speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly
- Physical agility to lift up to 25 pounds
- Ability to bend, to stoop, to climb stairs, to walk and to reach overhead
