Job Summary
Assist classroom teachers in preparing materials, administering tests, and grading while monitoring students during activities, play, and field trips. Support curriculum delivery to individuals and small groups, reinforce learning skills and discipline procedures, and perform basic clerical tasks including data entry, inventory, and supply distribution. Handle behaviorally challenging children as needed and manage documentation for attendance and achievement. Requires a High School Equivalency diploma, Title I academic assessment, and ability to diffuse volatile situations. Works indoors and outdoors with moderate noise levels, involving frequent bending, standing, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- Criminal background check and fingerprinting required
- High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma
- Completed at least two years of study at an institution of higher education
- Obtained an associate's or higher degree
- Met a rigorous standard of quality, and can demonstrate through a formal state or local academic assessment, knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing, as appropriate: Reading/language arts, writing, and mathematics
- Met a rigorous standard of quality, and can demonstrate through a formal state or local academic assessment, knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing, as appropriate: Reading readiness, writing, and mathematics readiness
- Basic knowledge of typical office equipment such as telephones, copiers, fax machines, email, etc.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Intermediate English language skills
- Intermediate oral and written communication skills

- Ability to work alone and with others
- Ability to diffuse and manage volatile and stressful situations
