Job Summary
Lead and develop student leadership initiatives across SMS JK-12, oversee the Leadership Lab and the Captains Program, and provide intentional pathways for student leadership growth. Collaborate with the Deputy Head of School, Student Life, and the SMS Pedagogical Leadership Team to integrate leadership curriculum with experiential learning and the 5 Cs (Courage, Curiosity, Connection, Care, and Global Citizenship). Develop and implement mentorship and coaching models for mentors and mentees, support interdisciplinary and experiential learning, contribute to professional learning communities, and promote a positive school culture aligned with SMS’s Humanity strategic plan. Maintain and model ethical practice, equity, and inclusive education, and support high-quality programming across disciplines while coordinating with colleagues on curriculum targets, unit plans, and year plans.
Required Qualifications
- Current and valid Teacher Certification through the Teacher Regulation Branch (BC)
- Experience in instructional leadership, coaching, or program coordination
- Proven ability to lead professional development and collaborate across teams
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across staff
- Deep commitment to equity, inclusion, and student-centered learning
- Demonstrates understanding of the BC curriculum
- Ability to lead, organize, and collaborate with others
- Maintains confidentiality and demonstrates integrity
