Job Summary
Instructional Interventionist for Reading (CALT or CALT in training) at Creek View Elementary School in AL focuses on delivering prescriptive, explicit, multisensory reading instruction to Grade 2–3 students with dyslexia-specific needs. Responsibilities include administering universal screening, participating on the Problem-Solving Team, developing Student Reading Improvement Plans, monitoring reading progress, coordinating with classroom teachers and literacy specialists, and serving as a teacher for summer reading camp. The role requires MSLE training participation, potential in-state travel, and collaboration to ensure all K–3 teachers utilizing an approved dyslexia intervention program are trained in dyslexia awareness and intervention strategies.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree and Mastery Status in LETRS professional development or comparable alternative
- Minimum three years of successful teaching of reading or content areas and good classroom management
- Experience providing intensive, targeted intervention utilizing an approved dyslexia-specific intervention program as a classroom teacher, special education teacher, English Learner, or reading intervention teacher
- The required Alabama Professional Educator Certificate (Early Childhood, Elementary, or Special Education Collaborative)
