Job Summary
The Instructional Designer will design, develop, and deploy training content across the Ace Handyman franchise network, focusing on engaging adult learners through online, classroom, and virtual formats. Responsibilities include creating and updating high-quality e-learning modules, video scripts, technical manuals, and ILT materials; collaborating with franchise owners, office staff, and field teams to capture best practices; managing content in the LMS to ensure nationwide consistency; developing assessments and feedback loops to measure training effectiveness and accelerate new-hire competency; participating as a team player in system migrations and upgrades; and traveling up to 25% for conferences and team meetings. Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Adult Education or equivalent, 4+ years in instructional or curriculum design, extensive LMS experience, 2+ years with course authoring tools (Articulate, Adobe, PowerPoint, Camtasia, etc), 2+ years in database management and reporting tools, and a recognized certification in Instructional Design or Curriculum Development from ATD, CRI or equivalent. Strong collaboration, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills are essential, with the ability to work autonomously in a growing franchise system.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Adult Education or equivalent
- 4+ years in instructional or curriculum design
- 4+ years of experience using a learning management system
- 2+ years’ experience with course authoring tools (Articulate, Adobe, PowerPoint, Camtasia, etc)
- 2+ years of experience in database management and reporting tools
- Certification in Instructional Design or Curriculum Development from ATD, CRI or equivalent
- Working knowledge of ADDIE or SAM design models
- Experience with Cornerstone LMS a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, TEAMS, and Office 365 Suite
