Job Summary
Supervise curriculum implementation and develop district-wide instructional strategies to increase student achievement. Plan and direct curriculum writing activities, evaluate assessments, and collaborate on textbook selection. Facilitate staff development through workshops and training institutes while utilizing data to improve instruction. Manage instructional funds, secure grants, and participate in district committees and task forces. Interpret school programs for the community and support student course placement criteria. Maintain professional growth by attending conferences and adhering to district policies.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- Valid Texas teaching certificate in content area
- ESL Supplement
- At least three (3) years of teaching experience in a curriculum area

- Bilingual
- Secondary and elementary experience
- Specific knowledge of the assigned content area
- General knowledge of all elementary and secondary curriculum areas
- Knowledge in the selection, training, and supervision of personnel
- Ability to plan and conduct staff development
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to effectively work and communicate with students, parents, and school personnel from diverse cultures or backgrounds
- Knowledge of State and district content standards and knowledge of district school improvement initiatives, including content standards, effective instruction, and assessment practices
- Skills in collaboration, curriculum development, and the use of data to improve student success
- Must maintain emotional control and exercise reasoning and problem solving skills while under stress
- Ability to coordinate district functions
- Ability to interpret policy, procedures and data
- Frequent lifting and carrying of moderate weight materials
- Frequent in-district and occasional in-state or national travel
- Frequent prolonged and irregular hours
