Job Summary
Numeracy Coach will empower teachers by working directly with all stakeholders to improve classroom instruction and student achievement. Responsibilities include analyzing data to differentiate instruction, creating and interpreting formative and summative assessments, collaboratively planning lessons to align with Everyday Mathematics/SC Standards, providing professional development on research-based instructional strategies and district programs (Gizmos, Everyday Mathematics, Curriculum Mapping, Number Worlds, graphing calculators), co-teaching/modeling lessons for teachers, serving as a liaison between the school and district, and observing teachers to provide feedback and support. The role emphasizes increasing teachers' use of instructional resources, differentiation in the classroom, and professional collaboration to ensure fidelity of standards and effective instruction.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a valid South Carolina teaching license or be able to obtain one within 60 days from being hired
- Must be Highly Qualified in the content area or be able to become Highly Qualified within 60 days from being hired
- Three to five years experience as a Math/Science teacher or elementary grade level preferred
