Job Summary
Instructional Coach position under the Principal's supervision to build instructional capacity. Develops and implements strategies to support all teachers, designs training, and coaches teachers in instructional practices, student feedback, student assessment, and teacher reflection. Conducts observations and conferences for feedback, models and co-teaches lessons, supports classroom management, serves as a content resource, assists with materials, facilitates goal-setting and problem-solving conversations for teacher growth, plans and facilitates seminars, and participates in professional development. Requires a South Carolina teaching certificate and a Master’s degree with prior experience in mentoring or teacher training; ongoing mentor training is expected. Strong knowledge of instructional design, curriculum, assessment, and confidential handling of student information; ability to communicate effectively and work with diverse educational teams. May travel locally as part of duties.
Required Qualifications
- Current South Carolina Teacher Certificate
- Master's degree or higher in education or related field
- experience as a lead teacher, mentor, or teacher trainer; SC Mentor Training for initial certification as a mentor
