Job Summary
Instructional Coach position supporting middle and high school teachers with a focus on ensuring teachers have knowledge, materials, and methods needed to teach the Shelby County Courses of study. The role involves delivering quality professional development, coaching teacher leaders, and guiding instructional practice to maximize student achievement. Nine-month position (187 days).
Required Qualifications
- Valid Alabama teacher’s certificate at the Master’s level or above
- Minimum of five years successful teaching experience
- Excellent communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills
- Deep knowledge of and experience in curriculum and instruction
- Ability to deliver quality professional development of teachers
- Previous coaching or teacher leadership experience
