Instructional Assistants (Job Coach) - 6 hrs. day/5 days week

Job Summary
Provide support services that help students benefit from the educational program, including assistance with daily living activities, behavior management, discrete trial training, and social skills training. Adapt materials using Braille techniques and operate specialized equipment for students with disabilities. Reinforce instructional objectives and implement intervention strategies identified in individualized educational plans. Facilitate student mobility, assist with personal care as trained, and manage classroom logistics such as seating, attendance, and equipment setup. Maintain an inclusive environment while ensuring safety and complying with state licensure and drug-free workplace rules. Work effectively with minimal supervision to meet program deadlines and foster a positive learning atmosphere.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Valid state department of education license/permit as determined at the time of appointment
- Meets all mandated state/federal criteria (i.e., approved degree, completion of requisite higher education credit hours/courses, or acceptable score on an authorized professional standards test)
- Behavioral management skills substantiated by training/work experience
- Agility, physical strength, and stamina to address the needs of students with problem behavior and/or students requiring physical assistance (e.g., mobility, transferring, positioning, etc.)
- Dependability/flexibility
- High ethical standards/integrity
- Consistent, impartial and resourceful critical-thinking skills
- Record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment
- Successful completion of communicable disease, child abuse/neglect, CPR, and/or first aid training as a condition of employment
