Job Summary
The Instructional Assistant for Surgical Technology supports full-time faculty in maintaining a 1:10 instructor-to-student ratio during lab sessions and assists students during lab activities. Responsibilities include preparing and organizing lab environments, providing direct guidance and hands-on support, monitoring student performance, and ensuring safe use of equipment. Candidates should possess an Associate's degree and hold relevant certification, along with at least two years of experience in surgical environments.
Required Qualifications
- 2 years of experience either in the operating room scrub role or as an instructor in surgical technology, or a combination of both, within the past five years
- Ability to read, write and comprehend instructions, reports and emails
- Ability to add and subtract numbers using basic units of measurement
- Ability to critically think and solve problems involving concrete variables with limited standardization
Desired Qualifications
- Graduate of an education program in surgical technology accredited by a nationally recognized programmatic accreditation agency
- Credential in the field of surgical technology through a national certification program accredited by the National Commission on Certifying Agencies (NCCA)
