Job Summary
Assist certificated teachers in instruction, supervision, and training of individual or groups of students; provide instructional support and student care including aiding physically handicapped students with feeding, toileting, and mobility; help organize instructional environments, prepare materials, maintain records, and contribute to developing student goals and objectives in collaboration with certificated staff; supervise during lunch, travel, and recreation periods; assist with mobility training activities and field trips; observe and report student progress and behavior to teachers; ensure a safe, orderly classroom and learning environment across sites and training stations; coordinate with administration to support daily instructional activities and data collection; participate in pre-placement medical assessment and criminal history check as required. STARTING SALARY: $2,701.01 monthly; WORK SCHEDULE: 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; LOCATION: West High School, Bakersfield, CA.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of the twelfth grade
- DIPLOMA FROM A REGIONALLY ACCREDITED CALIFORNIA HIGH SCHOOL AFTER JANUARY 1, 1981 OR PROOF OF CBEST OR POSSESSION OF A CALIFORNIA TEACHING CREDENTIAL
- CERTIFICATION OF PROFICIENCY IN BASIC READING, WRITING AND MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- ABILITY TO speak, read, and write a specified foreign language (preferred)
- CRIMINAL HISTORY CHECK PRIOR TO EMPLOYMENT
