Instructional Assistant - Special Education, Special Assignment

Job Summary
Coordinate instructional programs for special education students, including familiarity with Individual Education Plans (IEP) and behavioral intervention strategies. Assist teachers with planning, organizing, and preparing necessary materials while ensuring an encouraging, safe, and healthful learning environment. Provide in-class support to promote student independence, including mobility assistance, personal hygiene, and the use of assistive technology devices. Compile and file required reports while maintaining strict confidentiality in accordance with federal and state laws. Work Monday through Friday, with occasional evenings and weekends, adhering to a 40-hour work week.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) certification
- Six documented semester hours of coursework in early childhood education
- Two years of work experience in an early childhood setting
Desired Qualifications
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Experience working with or assisting individuals with special needs
