Job Summary
Assist students with personal care needs, including toileting and catheterization, after receiving training from school health professionals. Support students, teachers, administrators, and parents by developing positive, professional relationships while implementing approved job descriptions. Participate in non-teaching assignments, extra-curricular activities, and required training sessions. Render health services as necessary following appropriate certification. Work 7 hours per day for 180 days of the school year. Maintain professional and respectful communication with all faculty and students while meeting ESSA requirements for paraprofessionals.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a high school diploma or GED or enrolled in GED program
- Have the ability to develop a positive, professional relationship with students, teachers, administrators and parents
- Must be available to participate in training sessions
- Willing to participate in non-teaching assignments and extra-curricular activities that are related
- Must successfully complete all required employment forms and applications
- Must have the ability to implement approved job description
- Use professional and respectful communication to students and all faculty members while performing job duties
- Completed two years of study at an institution of higher education
- Obtained an associate's (or higher) degrees
- Met a rigorous standard of quality and be able to demonstrate, through a local academic assessment, knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing, reading, writing, and mathematics
