Job Summary
Instructional Assistant Special Education II supports certified teachers by monitoring and instructing special education students following IEP goals. Responsibilities include 1:1 and small-group instruction, developing and maintaining instructional materials, data collection on academic and behavioral goals, modifying curriculum to meet individual needs, implementing positive behavior intervention plans, crisis intervention procedures, and health-related tasks as needed. The role requires assisting with daily living activities, supporting transitions around campus, maintaining a safe learning environment, performing general clerical tasks, and participating in professional development and collaboration with the SPED team to achieve student IEP goals.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree or 60 college credit hours required at time of hire OR pass the ParaPro Test provided by the district free of charge
- Preferred Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience and record of effectiveness in similar roles
