Instructional Assistant Special Education I - Resource - Part Time - Brinton Elementary School

To assist, under direct supervision of certified teachers and specialists, in the monitoring and instruction of special education students implementing the Individual Education Plans; to assist students in performing their academic, daily living and health care activities; to relieve teacher of routine clerical tasks. Responsibilities include delivering, under teacher’s direction, classroom work/homework and reinforcing objectives; assisting in development of instructional materials; collecting data on academic and behavior goals; implementing positive behavior intervention plans; transferring non-ambulatory students; assisting with personal hygiene and daily living activities; accompanying students between campus locations; supervising and maintaining a safe learning environment; performing general clerical tasks; and participating in meetings. Required qualifications include an Associate’s Degree or 60 college credit hours; preferred qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and experience with children. This is a part-time role at Mesa Public Schools in Mesa, Arizona, with base hourly rate of $16.56 and 29 hours per week.
