Job Summary
Coordinate instructional programs for special education students by supporting teachers with IEP implementation, behavioral intervention plans, and classroom material preparation. Provide in-class support while promoting student independence, including personal hygiene, mobility assistance, and the use of assistive technology devices. Maintain confidentiality by compiling and filing reports, and collaborate with staff, parents, and community agencies to ensure a safe, conducive learning environment. Work Monday through Friday, occasionally evenings and weekends, with a maximum of 40 hours per week.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) certification
- Six documented semester hours of coursework in early childhood education
- Two years of work experience in an early childhood setting
Desired Qualifications
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Experience working with or assisting individuals with special needs
