Job Summary
Support teachers in coordinating instructional programs for special education students and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs). Assist with behavioral intervention strategies, plan classroom activities, and prepare necessary materials while ensuring a safe, healthful environment. Provide in-class support for students with diverse needs, including mobility assistance, personal hygiene, and the use of assistive technology devices. Compile reports, maintain student confidentiality, and participate in staff development. Work Monday through Friday, occasionally evenings or weekends, with a maximum of 40 hours per week.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) certification
- Six documented semester hours of coursework in early childhood education
- Two years of work experience in an early childhood setting
Desired Qualifications
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Experience working with or assisting individuals with special needs
