Job Summary
Support teachers in coordinating instructional programs for special education students, including familiarity with Individual Education Plans (IEP), and assist with strategies for behavioral intervention plans. Provide in-class support while promoting student independence, manage personal hygiene and mobility needs, and facilitate transitions between classes. Compile and file reports, maintain confidentiality, and assist with low- and high-tech assistive technology devices. Work Monday through Friday, 9am to 1pm, with occasional evenings and weekends, adhering to a 40-hour workweek limit.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) certification
- Six documented semester hours of coursework in early childhood education
- Two years of work experience in an early childhood setting
Desired Qualifications
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Experience working with or assisting individuals with special needs
